I’m Nicholas Furtado from K9NICK, third generation animal lover. My love for dogs began when I was 3 (or it was always inbred in me), with our first family pet dog “Fluffy”- an Indie who was with us for 19 years. Since then, I’ve owned, trained and bred Great Danes for over a decade now. 

Growing up in South Bombay in close proximity with people, aggression served no purpose in dogs. Instead, I trained these Giant Breeds to walk calmly on busy streets, have full control on and off-leash, and to also stay aloof or move away from people who were unsure around dogs. I like to keep my dogs confident and non-reactive.

My dogs have also fulfilled different roles – from winning obedience and conformation shows to working as therapy dogs for orphanage children. 

Through those 10 years, I worked professionally in Advertising, Events and e-learning companies. I decided to use my people skills to help dog owners raise calm, happy and responsive pets. At K9NICK, We train humans to communicate well with their canine companions, raise the ideal pet, manage resources and time, and also teach the dogs to be calm in their absence – no matter what the breed.
